What's Going On...
Our next open meeting is scheduled for Wed. May 21st at 7pm held at John Brown Francis School. Our special guest will be Mr. Henry A. L. Brown. He is going to talk to the neighbors about the history of the farm and how our neighborhood developed. We will have pictures and clippings on display and delicious snacks.

May is Show Your Patriotism month. We will be delivering a mini American Flag to your lawn in this beginning of this month. Display your flag proudly.

Our last open meeting was an informative one. Our community officers entertained us and provided great tips to improve our personal safety. Here are a few of the highlights from their presentation in case you missed it. Thanks Officers Joe Mee and Bob Chille.
Exterior Safety
-house numbers should be clearly visible from the street
-shrubbery should be trimmed to less than 4ft. to prevent hiding areas
-set outside lights to a timer
-ladders/trash cans, should be away from house to avoid entry into windows
House Safety
-doors should be solid with deadbolts, peephole, or small windows
sliders should have a safety bar along the bottom
-windows should be locked at all times and consider a finishing nail in a double hung
remove handles of crank out style and lock basement windows
Alarms
-check to make sure they work and use them
Valuables
-use safe deposit boxes or a safe-burglars know all the hiding spots
-have a list of all make, model, serial numbers, and descriptions of all equipment
-use direct deposit for retirement/benefit checks to avoid mail theft
Vacation/Extended Leaves
-you want you house to appear lived-in
-stop mail and newspaper
-use timers on lights inside
- turn off phone ringer and use answering machine
-notify police and they will drive by to check on the property
-tell a trusted neighbor or family member that you will be away
-don't forget the landscaping/yard work
Autos
-keep doors locked
-remove valuables
-know your VIN and registration numbers

-never give personal information over the phone unless you placed the call
